About Our Oven-
Our Build -
We start with 2″ of perlite concrete as a base which absorbs heat from the oven, on top of that is the 5 piece hearth of 1.5″ refractory concrete. With a 32″ interior, there’s plenty of cooking space. The dome is also made of 1.5″ refractory concrete with thermal sealant on the seams and along the seam between the hearth and the dome. Then there is 3.5″ of ceramic fiber insulation which not only retains heat in the oven it also stops heat from radiating outside. The exterior is a perlite/stucco which is painted or we can do custom finishes. It also has a steel door.
Each dome seam has an overlap to insure as little heat loss as possible.
3D Printed Molds -
We use 3D printed molds to create the parts to the dome. Once we add the concrete we put the mold on a vibrating stand to shake out any possible airbubbles and insure every space is filled. We do everything to make a perfect dome.
